Excellent writing, John! We too, feel the thrill when we see Mount Shasta after a year’s absence. We agree that Oceanside and Carlsbad have been loved to death. I like your idea of bringing your own fridge/freezer on the road with you. We might give something like that a try. Given my super gluten sensitivity and Bill’s allergy to nuts, we do prefer eating our own food as well. Would love to get you and Brenda over and talk about how we banish the ghosts of the dark night of the solo, which wake me up in the wee hours and get my mind spinning.
