I was just listening to a doctor on NPR address PFAS that have been found in the blood of the residents of an industrial town in Georgia!! - linked here, https://news.emory.edu/stories/2025/02/hs_rome_calhoun_pfas_study_20-02-2025/story.html

I can't stop thinking about how progress under capitalistic patriarchy is so skewed - how could we ever think progress meant THIS? uhh.

Thank you for writing on this, for informing us, and for advocating for all of us, John!

Thanks Kate, and thanks for the link. I've forwarded to our State toxicologist. She and I trade links!

Learning that PFAS chemicals are now in our beer is a real issue. I used to travel extensively before retiring to countries where the water was not safe to drink, even in your nice hotel. So my standing default was to drink beer (mostly light lagers with low alcohol content) in lieu of water with any meal, except breakfast where I had coffee. So, I assume the PFAS problem is international in scope and that would mean that now even local beers are a potential hazard.

It’s a function of how much PFAS is in the drinking water. In Washington I know where the data is, so I can probably assess the risk for some of the favorites.

John, thank you so much for all the brain power you invest for water quality. I’m saddened to see so few replies for your findings and presentations critical to public health. The interest (disinterest) in research and findings critical to our very survival reflects shifts in educational priorities.

That said, John, my best to you and your wife in particular for the upcoming Triathlon that’s just around the corner! A friend’s younger sister, Nancy Peters, has competed in amateur ranks for some time now. She’d be in a mid to late 60’s age group, and has placed first at least once.

So much living to do!

Thanks Gary,

It's pretty niche, and many of my engaged followers are email only. It is widely read by state, county, and federal staff, and even a politician or two, so it's reaching the places it needs to.

Thanks for the triathlon wishes. I'll look out for your friend's sister.
