I had no idea about the wells--so fascinating, I love that country. Those charismatic megaflora have a way about them for sure. Look forward to hearing more about how things progress, thanks for sharing this John. 🌵

Beautiful, John. Do you know if any traditional Cahuilla wells exist today?

After weeks of heavy rain here the ground is saturated, squelching underfoot, the water gathering in great sheets in all the fields around us. tThe loch edge is creeping up and the burn that flows out of it is a thunderous brown torrent. Thank you @john lovie for this reminder of other waterscapes, where water is rare and precious, and yet still squandered.

What an incredible account today, John. That so many people ignore rational accounts of this nature and continue to embrace the “beef industrial complex” and champion the use of corn to make ethanol (and not feed people) astounds me. Our planet appears to be very astounded! I continue to appreciate all you do to create awareness of our Earth.

Thank you for this. It interests me and terrifies me.

I remember in the 80’s, my father said that water is the resource we should be most worried about. People thought he was a little nutty to say that. He passed away 22 years ago. I wonder what he would say today about the state of our planet.
