There is a situation slowly brewing here that makes me worried about a certain group of people—mostly white ranchers—possibly planning to go after the Winters Doctrine. I’ll share if there is any development there (I hope there won’t be).
Good morning John, Not surprising to me is the effort and care you employ to craft your posts. Seasoned with references to your past efforts, current foci, and plans for your future endeavors, all reasons enough to look forward to your next report.
You posed several questions to your readers. Following are my replies:
1) Loper Bright and the US Supreme Court’s threat to once again unsettle settled law. The possible threat to the Federal Government’s ability to enact regulations to protect us from ourselves opens both my eyes.
2) my favorites from your past writing is limited by my short time following you. Your efforts to help the world see the impacts of population growth is my prime candidate. From degradation of air and water quality, to devastating impacts on the World’s inhabitants. (I’m referring to natural populations of Great Spirit’s handiwork, other than humans.)
3) And your upcoming plans? Visiting New Zealand. While the population count greatly exceeds that of your island community, NZ is still an island. Both areas are neighbors of fault lines. Tourism plays a part. Just as with your island, looking past tomorrow should be required reading.

Thanks, and yes, please share.
"local, but with global relevance." YES. That is what I love most about how your frame your essays--look forward to reading more.
Thank you so much, Freya, I'm glad they're landing that way for you.
John, thank you for doing this important work!
Really looking forward to the 2024 journeys of your writing. What parts of NZ will you be visiting?
Starting in Taupo, and as much as we can!
I am so grateful there are people like you doing this work, John!
Thank you Kim!

Thanks ever so much for all you do.
Thanks Gary!
These posts are so important. They spur me to see what advocacy groups there are in Canada and especially, New Brunswick, where I live.
I was unable to send you the PEI coastal link, but you may find the stories on CBC news archive.
Your work is very important.
Thank you, Lisa
